***DRAFT*** Have you written a specification for an announcements channel for uPortal and would like other to comment on it? Do you have an idea about optimizing the database storage of XML documents with relation to uPortal? This is the place for such information. Here we will post documents that you wish to share with the uPortal development and end-user community.
The reason for dividing the RFCs into two categories (Open Source and Commercial) is to indicate those RFCs that require, recommend, and/or advocate the implementation of commercial-based products.

| Calendar Channel | Calendar Channel - Functional Specification. Version 1.0
using iPlanet's Calendar Server as the
back-end calendar provider. IBS is currently running this in uPortal 1.5. They plan to port it to uPortal 2 and make use of the JNDI lookup service to get a connection to the given calendar server. IBS will demo this calendar channel at the LaJolla JA-SIG in July. |
